We finally did it! 🎥 We made a video course for the Leather Handled Tote, our most popular kit. Over seven short lessons we explain how to make it, from soaking the reed to lashing the rim, so you can weave right along with us. We're so excited to share it with you!

If you've woven from one of our patterns, you know the written steps will get you there. Still, there are moments when it really helps to watch someone's hands do it. That's what these videos are for.

The first lesson opens the kit and goes over the tools we like to keep close. Then we soak the reed and get the base started. Next come the leather loops, one of our favorite parts! They go in before the sides go up, which means they end up woven right into the basket instead of attached later.

Then the sides. The stakes turn up and the shape slowly goes from that square base to an oval. If you like a squarer tote, we show you how to keep it that way too!

Most lessons are somewhere between five and eleven minutes. Watch one, set your phone down, weave that part, and come back for the next. The rim is the long one at twenty minutes, so grab a cup of coffee and take your time with it. If lashing is new to you, Joanna's single lashing lesson is a nice warm-up.

Ours is left natural in the video. Here's the same tote in our aged oak finish. Isn't it pretty? Either one will happily carry a weekend's worth of things.

The course is $35, or just $25 when you add it to the Leather Handled Tote kit. The kit has the reed cut to size, the leather and a printed pattern, so you'll have it all on paper too.

Once the course is yours, it stays in your account, so the videos will be there the next time you weave one. We can't wait to see how yours turns out! ❤️
