Custom storage baskets, made for the space you live in.
Storage baskets for mudrooms, pantries, hutches, and built-ins — woven to fit the shelf, not the shelf to the basket.
How it works
Send the idea.
Dimensions if you have them, a photo of the shelf if you don't. The form is below.
We talk it through.
Within a few days: questions, a quote, weave and finish options, and a date. Present any ideas you have; we would rather work it out together than have you guess.
We weave it.
Once the brief is agreed, work begins at the bench. You'll get a progress note partway through.
It comes home.
Wrapped, labeled, and shipped, or pickup if you're nearby.

After it arrived.
A few words from people who commissioned a piece.
“The basket fit perfectly and the liner is great! Awesome quality all around!”

How much does a custom basket cost?
Size is the main driver, and the estimator above prices yours exactly as you type dimensions. We'll confirm with a clear quote in the first response, so you know the price before any work begins. Shipping is figured separately once the finished piece is boxed and weighed (see below).
Can you match the dimensions of an existing piece?
Yes. That's most of what custom work is. Send measurements (or the piece itself, if you can), and we'll weave to fit.
Do you take on full built-in commissions?
Often, yes. Mudrooms with five or six pieces, full vanities, and pantry sets are all things we've made. Larger projects take longer to schedule, and we'll be upfront about timing.
What if I'm not sure what I want?
Write anyway. Send the room, send the problem, send the constraints. We'd rather think through it with you than have you guess at a brief.
How long does a finished basket take to ship?
Once it's woven, a stained piece needs at least 4–5 days to cure and dry before it can be safely wrapped and shipped. We build that into the timeline, so the ship date we give you already accounts for it.
What finishes and stains can I choose?
Twelve stains are on the estimator, from White Wash Pickling through Classic Black. If you want something outside that list, name a Minwax colour in the project notes and we'll quote it; custom stains carry a small additional charge.
Will the stain match exactly?
As closely as reed allows, which is not quite the same as exactly. Reed is a natural material and no two lengths take colour the same way — grain, density and age all change how much a piece drinks up. We stain by hand, piece by piece, to the colour you chose, and a finished basket will read as that colour; expect a little variation across the weave, and against a swatch on screen. If an exact match to something you already own matters, send us the piece or a photograph and we will tell you honestly how close we can get.
Are the baskets built on a wooden base?
Nearly all of them, yes. A wooden base keeps a storage basket square and holds its shape under load, so it's how we build them as a matter of course rather than something you have to ask for. The occasional piece doesn't call for one; we work that out when we draft your pattern.
How is shipping cost figured?
It depends on the finished size and weight, so we can't give an exact shipping cost up front. We only know it once the piece is woven, boxed, and weighed. Larger pieces (roughly anything over 84″ in combined length and girth) start around $30, and we calculate the actual cost per order once it's ready to ship.
